  • What is Polypropylene (PP) ?

It is a rigid and crystalline thermoplastic used widely in everyday objects like packaging trays, household products, battery cases, medical devices, etc.

Polypropylene is a polymer whose monomer is propylene (an organic hydrocarbon with the chemical formula C3H6). The chemical formula of polypropylene is (C3H6)n. This polymer is also known as polypropene and is often denoted by the abbreviation 'PP'. Generally, polypropylene is produced via a chain-growth polymerization reaction involving propylene. This polymer is known to be a thermoplastic polymer, i.e. it softens upon heating and can, therefore, be remoulded.

Its popularity had exploded and widespread commercial production. Today it is one of the most commonly produced plastics in the world.

  • What type of products can it be made into in the blister industry?

  • Most of them are in food industry, why for this?

  • PP material is high temperature resistant and freezable, also it is food grade type.
Polypropylene is a material that is fully recyclable. Bacteria, fungi, and other microbes are vulnerable to polypropylene. Polypropylene is a non-toxic material found in nature.
